  6. If you use fonts and enjoy variety on your computer display or your printer 
  7. output then read this offer! It's your chance to get another 13 high-quality

  10. WHAT THESE FONTS WILL WORK WITH...
  11. If you have Windows 3 and Adobe Type Manager, you can use these fonts in 
  12. virtually any of your Windows applications that permit font selection. The 
  13. fonts will display on-screen and can be downloaded to your printer. Each 
  14. font set includes the required XXX.PFB file and XXX.PFM file. Use with 
  15. Aldus PageMaker, Microsoft Excel, VisualBasic, presentation software, or 
  16. whatever.

  18. If you use Corel Draw!, the set also includes a XXX.WFN file to add the 
  19. font to your copy of the premier PC design program. Of course, Corel 
  20. extends your flexibility/capability with each font by giving you a nearly 
  21. infinite variety of bolding, italicising, outlining, stretching, and 
  22. mutilating options.

  24. The font set also includes an XXX.AFM file in case you need it. Note that 
  25. the files include no special kerning information. Manual kerning, if 
  26. necessary, can be done when the fonts are used in software such as 
  27. PageMaker. In Corel Draw!, there's very little need for kerning pairs 
  28. information since you're often making those kinds of decisions as you 
  29. design.

  31. SUPPORT...
  32. Adding new fonts generally presents no bug or compatibility problems 
  33. that haven't already been solved with the first font installed. At less 
  34. than $1 a font, you probably don't expect an 800 number or 24-hour hotline. 
  35. You can expect me to respond to your messages posted on CompuServe 
  36. (72327,1702) or America OnLine (ThomasH53). Or if you send a stamped 
  37. self-addressed envelope, I'll do my best to solve your problem.

  39. WHERE THESE FONTS CAME FROM...
  40. These fonts were all created in Corel Draw!, probably my favorite piece 
  41. of software. I had always wanted an Egyptian Bold Condensed font for 
  42. the advertising work I do in PageMaker and Corel. I finally sat down one 
  43. weekend and created the font in Corel, and spent a lot of time working the 
  44. bugs out of the font-generating system. Then I made BeesWax after seeing a 
  45. similar font in a typesetting magazine. The first ad agency I worked for was 
  46. called Arocom and used the font called "Stop" in their logotype. I decided to 
  47. create a similar font for the computer (hence the name "Comaro"). Then it 
  48. just kind of snowballed into another eleven (and counting) additional fonts.

  50. WHY SO CHEAP?
  51. I wanted, or needed, these fonts myself. But others may as well benefit too. 
  52. I've always been on the buying end of software before, so I know how it 
  53. feels. Now I'm selling ... so rather than ask $10 or even $5 for a font 
  54. that's already created, I'm asking less than a dollar! I'm not gonna get 
  55. rich, but maybe I'll get compensated for the weeks put in creating the 
  56. fonts. It's probably cheaper for you than the cost of downloading them from 
  57. CompuServe! (And ten of these fonts won't be posted on CompuServe.)

  59. FONT DESCRIPTIONS...
  60. Descriptions indicate whether fonts contain upper case, lower case or both. 
  61. All fonts include numerals and basic punctuation. Some include punctuation 
  62. beyond the basic set. All include currency characters for dollars and 
  63. British Pounds. Most include the cents character also.

  65.   BEESWAX (UC)
  66. A fat, fun face similar to a font called "Bees Knees" which appeared in 
  67. "u&lc" magazine.
  68.  
  69.   BROADBAY (UC)
  70. Similar to a font called "Binner." On first look this font appears much 
  71. like Broadway (though the similar name is just coincidence). It's more 
  72. elegant than its well-known cousin, but also stronger; it could be used 
  73. where Broadway might not be hefty enough.

  75.   BULGE (UC & LC)
  76. Serif or non-serif? The characters of this font appear created with 
  77. painter's horse-hair brush strokes, with one or two strokes per letter. 
  78. Similar to a press-type font called "Croissant." Amazingly, considering 
  79. the design of the font, it works for text set as small as 11-point.

  81.   CAIRO (UC & LC) (Bonus Font)
  82. Bold serif condensed font, similar to "Egyptian Bold Condensed." Excellent 
  83. for headlines; text is legible, but gets too "solid" below about 18-point.

  85.   COLISEUM (UC & LC)
  86. A bold, non-serif font similar to a press-type font called "Koloss." 
  87. Works best as a display face at 24-point or better, but could be used as 
  88. small as 15-point.
  89. If the file you're reading now was attached to a font called "Coliseo"--then 
  90. Coliseum is the same font. (The file size has been reduced back to "normal" 
  91. by removing the sample characters from other fonts used in the Windows 
  92. Write promotional letter.)

  94.   COMARO (UC)
  95. A bold, stark font with abbreviated characteristics. Similar to a font 
  96. called "Stop," it can be used for headlines, but would be more appropriate 
  97. for logo and other design purposes. Looks very StarTrek-y if you try to 
  98. use it for text.

  100.   DEBORAH (UC & LC)
  101. A bold, non-serif font similar to "Compacta Black." Use for headlines or 
  102. logo design; text setting might be too strong.

  104.   GAEL (UC)
  105. Calligraphic font similar to Uncial The all-upper case font 
  106. looks like lower case. 
  107.  
  108.   GRAMMAR (UC)
  109. This font is similar to "Microgramma Bold Extended." A very wide font, 
  110. it's legible as small as about 14-point.
  111.  
  112.   INSCRUTA (UC)
  113. A very blocky, minimalist font. The only commercial font that's at all 
  114. similar might be one called "Baby Teeth."
  115.  
  116.   JOELOUIS (UC & LC)
  117. A non-serif font made with consistent-width stroking. Could be used for 
  118. text set as small as 14-point. Similar to a font called "Dempsey."
  119.  
  120.   MOTTEK (UC & LC)
  121. A bold, stark font with similarities to the above Comaro, but more 
  122. readible. Also very similar to a commercial font called "Motter Tektura."

  124.   RHINOFON (UC)
  125. A semi-serif bold font similar to a commercial font called "Elefont."
  126.  
  127.   TALLDECO (UC)
  128. A very art-deco-ish headline font, similar to a font that appeared recently 
  129. in "u&lc" magazine called "Anna." Very tall and condensed, the slender 
  130. characters include a nearly full set of alternate upper case (using the 
  131. lower case keys).

  143. The BeesWax, Cairo and Comaro fonts were posted last year on CompuServe 
  144. and America OnLine. If you've downloaded any of those, here's your chance 
  145. to get the the ones you've missed with no on-line charges. As a bonus, 
  146. all three files have been updated to add the British Pound character, 
  147. some other characters, and some character revisions or clean-ups.
